For the first time in over a decade, Danbury teachers' union backs a mayoral candidate
DANBURY — The local teachers’ union has unanimously endorsed Democrat Roberto Alves for mayor, marking the first time the union has officially backed a candidate in over a decade, according to the campaign.
“Roberto Alves understands the critical needs of our public schools,” Erin Daly, president of NEA Danbury, said in a statement. “He understands that investing in our schools is an investment in our community.”
